Um… it literally produced 50% of CDPR’s annual revenue.
“CD Projekt has released its financial report for the full year ended December 31, 2022. Thanks to strong sales of Cyberpunk 2077, the company recorded its second-best year in terms of both revenue and net profit.”
It also was estimated to have sold 13 mill units in 3 days from its launch making it one of the most successful launch sales for a game.
The game was actually good. It’s the last-gen versions that were the real travesties. I actually prefer Cyberpunk over some of the recent open-world RPGs that launched for this gen.
So, I’m not sure where you get “failure” from… unless you’re talking the last-gen version in which, yea, I’ll give that to ya.
