Dark Decider is an automatic rapid-fire rifle and one of the new Iron Banner weapons Lord Saladin is selling this season alongside the returning slug rifle, Gunnora’s Axe. They both have some nice perks to play with in PvP and PvE, especially since they can roll Voltshot, which has already proven absurdly strong on this season’s new craftable Ikelos SMG.
You can get a Voltshot Gunnora’s Ax if you reach seventh place in Iron Banner, but unfortunately the standard roll for Dark Decider doesn’t include the perk. If you want to get a strong roll for PvE or PvP, you’ll need to go through the costly process of focusing Iron Banner engrams, both by playing Iron Banner to earn them, and spending 100 Legendary Shards to gun them down. .
If you’re new to the season of the Seraph, you might want to learn more about the new craftable Exotic, Revision zero (opens in new tab), and how to get both it and its catalysts. Once you do, there are Security drones (opens in new tab) you can shoot to earn a nice exotic sparrow and open a secret door in Seraph’s Shield mission. That said, here are my top Destiny 2 Dark Decider god rolls for PvE and PvP.
How to get Dark Decider
You can get the Dark Decider auto rifle as a reputation reward from Lord Saladin when you reach rank four in Iron Banner. The best way to do this is through the Iron Banner Daily Challenges (opens in new tab) and just generally playing matches. The first roll you get is Compensator with chamber, Extended Mag, livelihoodand Gutshot Rightwhich is not the best for PvP or PvE.
Once you claim this, you can target more Dark Deciders from Saladin using Iron Banner engrams. Simply claim them in the top right, then focus them on a Dark Decider for the hefty prize of 100 Legendary Shards and 20,000 glimmer for a random roll.
Dark Decider PvP god role
Walk | Magazine | Column three | Column four |
---|---|---|---|
Arrowhead brake | Accurate rounds | Dynamic Sway Reduction | Rangefinder |
Dark Decider is an automatic bow rifle with a rapid-fire frame, meaning it fires 720 rounds per minute, so its recoil can be quite difficult to deal with if you’re acting from a distance. Arrowhead brake is a great barrel option for dealing with recoil and also provides a handling buff. In combination with Dynamic Sway Reduction in the third column you can control the gun better and land hits more consistently.
For magazine, will you Accurate rounds because it improves the effective range. In combination with Rangefinder in the fourth column you can better act at a greater distance – always useful in PvP. Dark Decider has a choice of two origin traits: Creeping Wolf and Veist Stinger. The first gives improved radar and removes you from the radar if you kill another Guardian with low health. It’s a useful perk if you find yourself regularly trading with other Guardians and taking quite a bit of damage before getting kills, but Veist Stinger is also decent as it has the chance to reload your weapon and lower your aiming speed when you hit an enemy .
If you can’t get Dynamic Sway and Rangefinder then Iron grip and Iron range is a possible combination with a similar effect, but I would only recommend them together. These advantages provide stability at the expense of reload speed and range at the expense of stability. There’s some synergy in that Iron Grip helps make up for what Iron Reach makes you lose in terms of stability, and reduced reload speed isn’t too much of an issue when rapid-fire frames reload better and you have Veist Stinger to help. Still, Dynamic Sway Reduction and Rangefinder are much more preferable as they don’t debuff other weapon stats.
Dark Decider PvE god roll
Walk | Magazine | Column three | Column four |
---|---|---|---|
Arrowhead brake | Flared Magwell | Dynamic Sway Reduction | Volt shot |
In PvE terms, roll Volt shot in the fourth column here is the most important. This perk is absurdly strong, shocking enemies with the next shot if you reload after a kill, and baking anything in the vicinity. Dark Decider is the first automatic rifle in the game that Voltshot can roll, and the benefit of having a decent primary weapon is very good. Unfortunately, Dark Decider doesn’t have the same reload perks as this season’s Voltshot Ikelos SMG, such as Threat detector or Feed frenzy.
With that in mind, you can go with whatever you want for playstyle in the third column, but I’d recommend it Dynamic Sway Reduction, as it makes using the gun more enjoyable in terms of recoil, and it means you can potentially use this in PvP as well. For barrel and magazine, Arrowhead brake and Flared Magwell are good options. Similar to the PvP roll, the first helps you deal with Dark Decider’s recoil, and the second offers a faster reload so you can activate Voltshot faster after killing.
Dark Decider can also roll livelihood in the third column, which partially reloads the weapon when you kill something. Usually it’s an extremely good perk, but since only active reloads activate Voltshot, it can actually work against you depending on how many rounds it takes to kill an enemy. It would also provide little benefit as you would often reload after a kill instead of continuing to fire anyway.
