As you improve friendships in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll unlock all kinds of clothes and household items. Once you reach level 10 friendship with the majority of the valley’s inhabitants, you’ll unlock a special quest to get an item unique to them, such as Goofy or Merlin’s hats.
In this guide, we take a look at Minnie Mouse’s level 10 quest, restoring the Merry Chums Club banner – and the club itself – to its former glory. This quest will require you to grow cotton and mine gold nuggets, so be sure to bring high-level gardening and mining buddies for each task. With that in mind, let’s see how we can complete Minnie’s quest.
How to restore the Merry Chums Club banner
Before embarking on this quest, it would be wise to unlock the entire valley map as you can farm for resources faster, but you’ll get away with only unlocking the following areas:
- Sunlit plateau
- Glade of confidence
- Square
- Peaceful Meadow

The first thing to do is find the long-lost banner of the Merry Chums Club. You can find it in the Glade of Trust. I found it by the pond to the right of the bridge that led to Mother Gothel’s house. It’s a big red roll of cloth, so it’s hard to miss.
Once you collect it, you need to collect 20 pieces of cloth, make some red dye and mine 10 gold nuggets. Here’s what you need to do to get each of these items.
- Clothing fabric: Made of cotton. Cottonseeds can be purchased from the Sunlit Plateau and take about 25 minutes to grow. You can also use the magic elixir on your watering can that will instantly grow crops when watered to speed up the process. Be sure to bring a garden friend with you when you harvest the cotton as they will spawn extra for you as you need five cotton to make one piece of cloth.
- Red paint: To make the red dye you need an empty vial, two squids and two grenades. To make the empty vial you will need three glasses, which you can make from sand and coal. You can catch squid in the Glade of Trust or Forgotten Lands, and shells can be mined in the Plaza or Peaceful Meadow.
- Gold nuggets: These can be won in Sunlit Platea, Forgotten Lands and Frosted Heights.
Once you have everything you need, you can make the Happy Chums Club banner. After that, you need to enter your house and place it on a wall, after which a group of your friends – merry friends, if you will – will appear in your house for a photo opportunity. Take the picture and talk to Minnie to finish the quest, and you will receive her signature dress as a reward.
