As a PC Gamer staff writer, you’ll join a team of over 20 writers and editors from the UK, US, Canada and Australia. It’s a varied role, so you can dive into a little bit of everything from news to reviews to articles on every aspect of PC gaming, entertaining and informing millions of readers.
Previous experience working on a video game website is not required, and we’ll help you develop your writing and editing skills, show you the mysteries of SEO, and teach you how to get the most out of social media. What we are looking for is a creative individual with excellent written English and strong communication and time management skills. A fascination with PC games would also be more than helpful! We’re always looking for more people connected to live service games and experts in specific genres, modding scenes, and platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
Apart from discussing the site in your wonderful words, you also have the opportunity to work on podcasts and videos and attend industry events ranging from hands-on previews to big shows like Gamescom. You will also gain experience working in print media through PC Gamer magazine, which is published monthly.
PC Gamer offers unlimited paid time off, but that’s not the only benefit. At the end of the financial year, our publisher Future shares a profit pool bonus with every member of staff. Future also offers extra education and training opportunities, so that you can work towards new professional qualifications; or you can get tips from Future colleagues at informal training events.
