Jessie J has called out people making “comments on pregnancy videos” shortly after announcing her baby news.
On Friday, the Bang Bang singer revealed she is pregnant by sharing a video montage that includes images of a positive pregnancy test, ultrasound videos, photos of her growing baby bump and snaps showing her suffering from morning sickness.
“I’m so happy and terrified to finally share this,” she wrote in the caption. “Please be gentle with me. Honestly, your girl just wants to cry ugly in public in a catsuit while eating a chocolate-covered pickle with no questions asked.”
But on Saturday, Jessie returned to the platform to address negative user comments.
“It’s very interesting to see how women interact with each other. Let me say this. Pregnancy is the most relatable yet UNIQUE journey. We all feel and experience it and deal with it in OUR own way. Telling someone how they feel or what they need to feel is just not the way to do it,” the 34-year-old argued. “Everyone is different. Literally. And every story and every journey is different. Pregnancy is not a competition. Pregnancy is not (about) who is doing better or well, because no one way works for everyone. I can only speak about the first trimester in full and I believe no matter how stupid or amazing or horrible, scary or joyful it is. Gratitude is always there as a given. But we can feel. We can do it the way WE want. We’ve got this.”
Jessie’s pregnancy announcement comes 14 months after she shared she had a miscarriage.
In November 2021, she told fans she suffered a pregnancy loss following her decision to “have a baby on my own”.
