Both sides were guilty of failing to convert some good chances in an exciting match in Group D.

Don’t judge this game by its score. Tunisia battled Denmark to a nil-nil draw that has to rank as one of the most exciting games in World Cup history to end without a goal to show for the thrill it provided.

During Tuesday night’s Group D match, Tunisia brought the energy from the start, with hard-hitting tackles and players who rallied the North African country’s countless fans at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.

The Eagles of Carthage, as the Tunisian team is known, dominated the early stages, but slowly Denmark grew into the game and began to dominate possession.

Tunisia missed a few gilt-edged chances either side of half-time as their fans continued to pressure Danish players with whistles and boos.

Perhaps the best chance of the game, however, was for Denmark’s Andreas Cornelius, who inexplicably headed the post from close range.

In the end, a draw seemed like a fair result, but both sides will be concerned that they couldn’t capitalize on a few good chances.

More to follow.
