When Vampire survivors left early access in October, developer poncle said it would probably start working on something new, but promised that “US support will continue as well”. Today it delivered on that promise with the announcement of the 1.1.0 “Tiny Update”, which actually sounds pretty big to me.
Vampire Survivors really surprised me. It was immediately hard to stop playing, and the PC Gamer crew kept talking about it when version 1.0 launched. I didn’t expect how deep it is. At first glance, it seems like a pretty straightforward twin-stick shooter, but the more I played, the more things kept happening: I discovered new weapons and upgrades, unlocked new characters, and got teleported to secret, weird areas, all without warning or even an acknowledgment that such things could happen.
Yesterday the PC Gamer team was talking about Vampire Survivors so I decided I should finally give it a try because it looks kinda weird but interesting or whatever and 24 hours later I’m sitting here screaming LET THE DEATH BE MY BE NAMEOctober 22, 2022
More of that will happen after the release of the 1.1.0 update. Poncle said it will feature a new stage called Tiny Bridge that will drop the hero in the middle of a battle between two bloodthirsty factions, a new ‘secret’ character called Scorej-Oni (not much of a secret now I guess), a new powerup item, two new achievements, and several “minor improvements” including bug fixes, pause menu updates, and faster load times.
Detailed patch notes for the Vampire Survivors “Tiny Update” will be released tomorrow, November 24, which is also when the update itself goes live.
